A new month is here, and with April comes the wonder that is Camp NaNoWriMo – The slightly more relaxed little brother of Novembers well-known NaNoWriMo.
I absolutely love writing on this blog and interacting with people on Twitter, but my ultimate goal is to finally write my first novel. I went feet first into NaNoWriMo last November with no planning whatsoever, and quickly lost my steam after only 15K words. Determined to do better, I have spent the months between then and now planning, plotting, scrapping, re-plotting and generally tearing my hair out over my writing project. With April and Camp NaNo now on my doorstep, I feel cautiously optimistic that I might actually achieve something this month, something that might not just get scrapped again at the end of it all. I’ve set a project goal of 10K words for now – High enough for me to feel that I need to get my butt in gear, but not so high that I feel overwhelmed with the thought of it.
So my hope is that this will be me for the next 30 days:
I’ll be sure to post again around the middle of the month to let everyone know how it’s going. See if I’m as productive as I aim to be, or if it all ends in disaster!!
Are you taking part in Camp NaNo? What goal have you set for yourself?
