Today I am delighted to be sharing with you a fantastic thriller, Behind Closed Doors by Sadie Ryan. Big thanks to Sadie for providing me with a copy of the book for review, and to Rachel of Rachels Random Resources for inviting me to take part in this tour!
She’s in your house, now she wants your life …
Tina Valentine has it all: the loving family, the beautiful house, the successful career.
But then Megan Pearson starts work at Tina’s law firm and with her arrival the perfect world Tina has built for herself starts to collapse as it becomes clear that the newcomer is intent on infiltrating every aspect of her life.
Something is obviously wrong with Megan but nobody else seems to see it. As the mind games and manipulations continue, Tina comes to the sickening conclusion that now she’s opened the door to Megan, it’s going to be impossible to make her leave …
Where can I even begin with this book, it was a whirlwind from start to finish! And to think it’s Sadie Ryans debut novel, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any future releases from her!
Incredibly well written, Behind Closed Doors is full of tension, trickery and mystery. Following Tina, it is easy to sympathise with her as everything in her life seems to start falling down around her. Though she can clearly see Megan is the cause, no one believes her. Her husband, friends and coworkers all think she is losing the plot. It is actually frustrating to read, I felt frustrated on behalf of Tina, because yes it looks like she’s gone round the twist but as the reader you can also see all the things Megan is up to, and see that she’s not as innocent as she seems.
The story as a whole was very well put together – You’re left guessing a lot of the whos, whats and whys right up until the end, the story twisting and turning all the time. Definitely one of my favourite reads of the year, I can’t wait to see what Sadie Ryan writes next!
