Another month down, and I am sure feeling it! May has left me exhausted. I have been busy, and not even with anything drastic, just little projects and things here and there, but it’s all added up to me spending most of the month feeling like I haven’t stopped.
I’ve been busy reading, of course, but my day job has also been pretty busy (not to mention short staffed) so I’ve been putting in extra hours there. I ended up writing a couple of articles for small publications, too, in relation to a hobby/side job that I have, on top of being involved in some projects for it. I’ve also been trying to work on myself this month – I haven’t been great recently and I’m trying to remedy that. It’s a slow process but we’ll see how it goes.
I’m excited for June to begin, I’ve got lots of things planned (Another busy month ahead – Watch me be excited right now, and in my June Wrap Up post I’ll be moaning again about being exhausted!)
Now, on to my books from May!
First up was We Set The Dark On Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia. A book I had been desperate to get my hands on, and am now just as desperate for book two to make an appearance! You can check out my review for this here.
Next was another book I had been super excited about, the latest addition to a series I am in love with: Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs. I adore the Mercy Thompson series, and this book did not disappoint. Despite being 11 books in, this series still holds my attention just as well as it did with book 1! You can check our my review here.
Outside my usual blog tours with Rachels Random Resources, I was also lucky enough to be part of a blog tour and cover reveal for Natasha Prestons ‘Silence’ series. I haven’t read a book of hers that I didn’t like, so I was more than happy to be taking part! The books had all been given gorgeous new covers, and it provided the perfect excuse for me to re-read the first two books, as well as finally get round to reading the third! You can check out my reviews, as well as short extracts from each book, here:
Silence – Broken Silence – Players, Bumps & Cocktail Sausages
Next up, yet another highly anticipated read! Finale by Stephanie Garber. I splashed out a little and actually treated myself to the Fairy Loot box for this release, and I am so in love with all of the goodies that arrived in it! I am so sad that this series has now come to an end, but I LOVED this book, just as much as the first two. I haven’t recovered enough emotionally to write a review of it yet, but I intend to in the near future!
Last, but certainly not least, another new release from this months that I was desperate to get my hands on, The Raven Coven by the wonderful Emma Miles. This is book two in her Fire Walker fantasy series, and it was every bit as thrilling and captivating as book one. You can check out my review of book one, The Raven Tower, here, and my review of The Raven Coven (Which went live earlier today) can be seen here.
